Leftist Personal Ad

Is it possible?
From time to time I check out the Women Seeking Men section of Craig's list. I figured that perhaps in an abyss of fake ads and spam there would be a legitimate girl that may like me for me. But mostly I read these ads for the ridiculous content that some of these supposed "love seekers" put on that God forsaking website. One in particular caught my attention since it is from Chapel Hill and makes it clear that she does not want conservatives. Here is what she said. The colored text is my commentary.

Intelligent, Caring, Pro-Feminist Man Wanted

I figured I'd give this a shot and see what happens.(Probably a lot of offers for NSA sex) I'm 26 and have a full-time job with a nonprofit. I love to swim, play and listen to music, watch movies, read books, go swimming, walks in the woods, camping and be around animals and nature. Aside from fulfilling work, I have personal needs and suddenly there is a space in my life that is no longer filled. (So far, she sounds like my kind of gal) I want to meet someone I can at least have fun with. No pressure. But it might also be nice to eventually find someone to love and who loves me back. For the past few years I've been living a sort of "alternative lifestyle"(How alternative?) that usually included a large social scene of travelers, musicians, and punks. Politically I'm left of center. (It's ok, nobody is perfect) But I'm also very attracted to people who are down to earth and stable. Most of the guys I've been seeing have been roughly four years younger than myself. It might be nice to try being with someone who is older than me, because I still haven't found what I need. I'm looking for a guy who is sensitive, ethical, caring and intelligent. I can go for guys who are leftist or apolitical. Conservatives need not apply. (Had this been a posting for a job, I'm sure the EEOC would have been all over it.) I'd be happy to send me a picture if you send me one. Perhaps we could meet up and see if we get along...xo

Seriously? I mean... seriously did she have to put in "Conservatives need not apply". I didn't realize that someone who wants a pro-feminist man would advertise a relationship like a job opening. I understand that there needs to be understanding in a relationship, but sadly I feel that this gal is limiting herself to the same guys who she hasn't been succesful at establishing a relationship. My recommendation would be to follow the Barry Obama mantra and go for chaaaange. I'm sure that she is a lovely lady with a charming personality, but to only limit herself based on her political affiliation may hurt her chances rather help. But, it's her ad she can ask for whatever guy she wants since that's her choice. But I just can't help put to feel rejected before even putting in an application.

RENEWAL DAMMIT!

Alright people, after months of being idle due to other circumstances I'm back to the blogging. It's been a rough couple of months both personally and professionally but I still like to maintain some kind of presence on this. Since it's Renewal time, I now have...

New Computers

New Place

And a new coffee machine

That last one is great, since I will be staying up all night writing on this thing and other sites. Seriously people, now I am in a position to really get more involved. I look forward to be more involved in my community. WOOT

This is Not The End, This is A Beginning

A historic election is over, and we will have a new president by the name of Barack Obama. Many of us who call ourselves conservatives are still in shock to hear that a young and inexperienced first term Senator was chosen over an experienced veteran with the leadership necessary to lead our country during troubled times.

This is not the time to point fingers or complain about how this could have happened. It happened, the majority of Americans wanted him and those who opposed Obama will have to come to terms with this reality.

Let the leftists and those who were mesmerized by the “change” mantra to finish their champagne and to celebrate the new wave of American politics. Because on January 20, 2009 Republicans will regroup and the gloves will be coming off.

The End Is Near

Alright people, listen up! It's election day and if for some reason you haven't made it to the early voting polls in the last two weeks you need to get off your behind and go vote.
Obviously, I want you to go vote for John McCain and Sarah Palin but if you are not I'm still glad that you are participating in the process. So if you're voting for Barry, make sure to vote after 7 PM.
Everything is in anxiety mode, but hopefully tomorrow we can breathe much easier since it will be over.
Go vote!

In Rememberance

Writer's Note: Regardless of your politics, or your personal belief on the events of 9/11 I feel that we must all come together in rememberance. If you can't handle it, then don't bother reading.Seven years ago today, I was having dinner aboard the USS Kearsarge off the coast of Cyprus. That's when I saw the news on the mess deck, New York City and Washington D.C. attacked. As a Marine being overseas, I felt completely helpless to do anything. We were already in a hostile region and awaiting orders to find the sons of bitches who did this to us and get them. Seven years later, I find myself in the comfort of an air conditioned office for a wonderful company. It's hard to imagine that some of my brothers in arms are overseas doing what they do best. Sometimes I wish I should have joined them but I have to consider my own personal convictions. What is more painful is that many Americans have forgotten how we felt on that eventful day. Despite our politics, our ethnic background, religion or even denial of the events we are still Americans. Some in the world cheered our demise, but most in the world wept and mourned with us. Regardless of how you feel today due to recent events both abroad and at home, I take great pleasure to know that we are still thriving, we are still living and most of all we are still laughing at the SNL sketches based out of New York City. So fuck you you terrorist pigs, I will not cower in fear, I will not stop making my country the greatest place on Earth and most of all I will laugh at anything I find funny and offensive because that's what Americans do and that's something you can't destroy.

Girl Next Door Steals Spotlight from Boy Wonder

I and many of us in the blogosphere have just learned that Alaska's Governor Sarah Palin has been chosen as John McCain's running mate. I am excited and now more willing to vote for John McCain due to his pick. He has indeed chosen a true conservative, a young prospect and who knows quite possibly the next GOP candidate for President in 2012. I welcome Sarah Palin to the race and can't wait to see her mop the floor with Biden in the next debate.

Behind Enemy Lines

My neighborhood has a lot of people who are obvious Obama supporters. A lot of cars have the standard issue Obama '08 bumper sticker. People have even gone as far as putting Obama yard signs on their windows. The reason being is because the tenants can't put anything on the lawn so the window is ok. I haven't gotten my McCain sign yet because I'm still waiting for his Veep choice, I hope I can stomach McCain's VP choice.
As I was driving to my place, I noticed something that I haven't seen in this town before. A John McCain sign on a window. I had to stop the car, because I thought it way have said "McSame" or whatever the libs are spewing now a days. But this was the real deal, a real John McCain sign right smack in the middle of Yippie Hippie Chapel Hill. A few blocks down the street, a car had a John McCain bumper sticker on their car. Which leads me to believe something, Conservatives are starting to sprout in the area. Is it possible that more people are now siding with a conservative view rather than the liberal perspective? Are we considered insurgents since we don't want to conform to CHANGE? I smell something in the air..... revolution. If any of you want to get a laugh from the local "progressive" side in my town check out www.orangepolitics.org

It's a tragic comedy and really nothing more of a Daily Kook but for Orange County NC.
